Life not death is inevitable

From the premise that God is Life, that God is infinite, the one and only intelligence of the universe, it follows that life is inevitable.

But what of murder, death by accident, disease or old age, etc.? Could it not mean that they all indicate a false sense of life, namely material existence?

Material existence has no moral basis. It is really quite outrageous when you stop and think about conception, birth, maturity, death. Morality/spirituality is injected somewhere along the line, but chance is accepted as playing a huge part. Spiritual law and physical law share the jurisdiction, one or the other taking precedence, but ultimately physical law outweighs spiritual in condemning man to dust - "the ghastly farce of material existence."(S&H)

Now to the one who is enjoying the ride, the one who has been on the happy side of chance, the farce is not offensive at all. But the Bible is clear: "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive." (I Cor.)  Adam represents the ghastly farce of material existence. Christ represents life in God, or God as Life.

Although life in God requires relinquishing "the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life," and this is no easy task, it has the promise of true liberty, the promise of Christ Jesus, "If you keep my commandments, you will have eternal life."

"It is the spiritualization of thought and Christianization
of daily life, in contrast with the results of the ghastly farce
of material existence; it is chastity and purity,
in contrast with the downward tendencies
and earthward gravitation of sensualism and impurity,
which really attest the divine origin and operation of Chris-
tian Science. The triumphs of Christian Science are re-
corded in the destruction of error and evil, from which are
propagated the dismal beliefs of sin, sickness, and death.

The divine Principle of the universe must interpret the
universe. God is the divine Principle of all that repre-
sents Him and of all that really exists. Chris-
tian Science, as demonstrated by Jesus, alone
reveals the natural, divine Principle of Science." (S&H)
