There are far more false prophets recorded in the Bible than legitimate ones and, we understand, they were always on someone’s payroll, whereas legitimate prophets were independent and more often than not, unpopular. Nothing much has changed, although today’s false prophets speak in the name of science instead of God.
A wonderful story in the Bible that illustrates the pattern: The wicked Ahab of king Israel urged Jehosaphat king of Judah to unite in battle at Ramothgilead. The latter suggested they consult with the prophets to see if it was God’s will. Ahab’s 400 prophets were in consensus to go for it. Jehosaphat, probably sensing the 400 were on the payroll and a little too eager to please, asked if there was not any other prophet to consult. Reluctantly, Ahab called for Micaiah, a prophet he hated, because he would not tell him what he wanted to hear. Micaiah warned Ahab that his 400 prophets had been duped, and that in fact Ahab would be killed if he proceeded with the battle. For this, Micaiah was slapped around and thrown into prison for his insolence. Ahab went on to fulfill the prophesy.
Today’s false prophets are paid to produce carefully constructed scientific data models which predict a future which fits the narrative desired by those who pay for them. The data models consistently prove to be very wrong over time. Unfortunately, these prophets are well funded and therefore carry clout in convincing others to do as they say, often with disastrous results. In this scenario, independent prophets of science who challenge the narrative are likely to be scorned and lose their jobs.
What is the lesson here? Know your Bible and you will not be so easily taken in by false prophets! Just because someone proclaims he is a prophet of God are we to accept it, especially when there are no signs following? Just because someone claims science justifies a course of action, are we to accept it, especially when there is no science to be found? Note: "A lot of people have died so we must wear masks and be vaccinated to prevent more deaths" is not science. Data that indicates that masks and vaccines don't seem to have much impact are somewhat scientific.
The Pope recently urged folks to give up their individualism, and submit to the science and get vaccinated for the good of all. What blasphemy, because the moment we give up our individualism, we give up our God, and that is good for no one. The Pope is no man of God, and certainly not a man of science! Giving up individualism for the collective, as the horrible record of communism has shown us, is tantamount to submitting to awful tyranny.
In the following declaration, Christian Science refers to the Science of Christ, not a denomination or religion:
“Like our nation, Christian Science has its Declaration of Independence. God has endowed man with inalienable rights, among which are self-government, reason, and conscience. Man is properly self-governed only when he is guided rightly and governed by his Maker, divine Truth and Love.
Man's rights are invaded when the divine order is interfered with, and the mental trespasser incurs the divine penalty due this crime.” - Science and Health with Key the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy
In the divine order, false prophets are held accountable, and truth sets man free.
