A study of how sin creeps in

TEXT:

"The belief of sin, which has grown
 terrible in strength and influence,
is an unconscious error in the beginning, — an embryonic
 thought
without motive; but afterwards it governs the so-called man.
Passion, depraved appetites, dishonesty, envy, hatred, revenge ripen into action,
only to
pass from shame and woe to their final punishment.
" (S&H)

DISCUSSION:

1. Sin - "an unconscious error in the beginning, — an embryonic
thought without motive" - consider what this means.

2. Think of cases in your own experience where sin (a belief of :) took over in your own experience - either passion, depraved appetite, dishonesty, envy, hatred or revenge. Can you trace how it encroached?

3. How to discern and neutralize it?
