TEXT: “As in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” (I Cor. 15)
God is perfect, infinite, unchanging good, Spirit, the only Cause and Creator and Preserver. Note that there is nothing physical here. We call it divine metaphysics.
Many agree with this divine metaphysics but then depart from metaphysics when trying to explain physical reality - the logic being, since God is the only Cause and Creator, He obviously created the material universe and carnal man, “as in Adam.” Thus the terrible contradiction that perfection, infinity, unchanging good and Spirit creates its opposite, imperfection, finiteness, changeable good and matter.
However, “As in Christ,” the standpoint from which Jesus operated, divine metaphysics maintains its position, and denies the physical’s claim to reality because not of God, Spirit. Throughout his life-work, Jesus denied the laws of physics by overcoming their apparent fixity. He was not impressed with the 5000 and only having 5 loaves of bread and two fishes to feed them. They ended up having left overs! The fellow who was born blind, Jesus healed, and we can be sure it was not the mud that did it. Lazarus being dead for four days Jesus confidently raised him up. Walking on water, instantly transporting himself and the ship across the sea…Jesus’ miracles were mis-called because for him they were divinely natural.
Jesus stayed in divine metaphysics where his Father in heaven supplied the need before he asked for it, where the realness of God dissolved material resistance, where it overcame the crucifixion, and where he demonstrated for all of us “As in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.”
Divine metaphysics ala Christ Jesus:
Having one God, one Mind, unfolds the power that
heals the sick, and fulfils these sayings of Scripture, "I
am the Lord that healeth thee," and "I have
found a ransom." When the divine precepts
are understood, they unfold the foundation of fellowship,
in which one mind is not at war with another, but all have
one Spirit, God, one intelligent source, in accordance with
the Scriptural command: "Let this Mind be in you,
which was also in Christ Jesus." Man and his Maker
are correlated in divine Science, and real consciousness
is cognizant only of the things of God.
