Hiking in the forest today, I find a rocky outcrop with a beautiful view - and then turn around and see this lonely flower in the woods:
What a wonder! Certainly, "Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these!" (Jesus) It's called a Turk's Cap Lily, indigenous to the area.
Notice the incredible detail, the beauty. Who came up with this design? Where does such artistry come from? Natural evolution? What utter nonsense!
If there is no Intelligence behind the universe, then this magnificent flower was a fluke, and each of its instances has been a fluke. What utter nonsense!
Should we not join the Psalmist: "Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains." [and the flowers!]
"God alone makes and clothes the lilies of the field, and this He does by means of Mind, not matter." (S&H) The matter manifestation of a lily lasts a very short time, but the idea, the means of Mind, as suggested in the image in this picture, goes on forever.
What a glorious reminder of the wonder of His creation!
